Ecclestone states BBC will not show full re-runs in 2012

Ecclestone has stated that the BBC will only show shortened highlights of the races it does not show live next year, and not full-length re-runs. McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh said in July that he had been reassured by Ecclestone that the BBC would show full re-runs, but the F1 supremo now claims, "the BBC will broadcast 75 minutes of every race."

That's a shame Bernie, that the loyal UK fans won't be able to see the races live.
Bernie   Bernie Ecclestone
They're lucky they have a sport at all Fernando, bloody layabouts. If it wasn't for me F1 would still be a bunch of in-bred aristrocrats driving for a bet on a Sunday.
fernando   Fernando Alonso
Well the sport does need an audience or it becomes redundant.
Bernie   Bernie Ecclestone
That's the problem really, all these redundant wasters, I blame the government. They should have them out digging or mining.
MycLaren   Martin Whitmarsh
After being guaranteed by you that the BBC would show full re-runs, the McLaren group hope 75 minutes will be enough to see the main action and our sponsors.
Bernie   Bernie Ecclestone
Who wants to watch a full race anyway, bloody overpaid nancys going round in circles. I wanted a 10 minute slot, show the start, a few grid girls, a crash or two, and the champagne on the podium. Job done.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
That sounds a bit tacky there Bernie, I doubt people who've paid for their BBC license would be happy.
Bernie   Bernie Ecclestone
You get what you pay for Michael, no free lunch on Bernie. I actually want there to be a BBC superlicense where the holders are rewarded by paying per minute of deferred F1 highlights.
CoalInCoals   Colin Kolles
I have to say on behalf of the smaller teams I am outraged. We are the lifeblood of the sport.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
More like the bloodsuckers of the sport.
CoalInCoals   Colin Kolles
In a 75 minute slot we will be lucky if the viewers see anything of the HRT cars, we will suffer the most.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
I think in 75 minutes the viewers would be lucky to see one flying lap from a HRT. Don't worry, I'll try and take a bit longer when I'm lapping your guys.
lee   Lee McKenzie
I'll get even less airtime if we only have 75 minutes. Maybe the new Sky producers will see my potential and give me a bigger role.
JakeHumphrey   Jake Humphrey
I just hope all you guys out there will keep tweeting me when it moves to Sky. Remember you can tweet anytime, day or night, even during the 75 minute deferred highlights, I'll have my laptop open.
MBrundle   Martin Brundle
Who knows what will happen, I have heard Tony Jardine's name pop up in relation to the Sky coverage.
mschumi   Michael Schumacher
Christ, not Tony Jardine again. All those old ITV guys will be looking for jobs at Sky now.
JamesAllen   James Allen
Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..........
JamesAllen   James Allen
oooooooooooooooo! Hey guys, remember me, I can be just as exciting as Murray was.
